Food webs

Description for the past three weeks we have made a final food web to present to the group this time I have done a Amazon rainforest food web with Thomas. This poster shows what every thing eats and we also did take one animal out and see what animals expand and what animals minimize .

Facts about gorillas: if you live in Africa the changes are you only see them at the zoo or on the TV 
They are social animals
Critical endangered animals
Lllegal hunting and dessices has greatly recessed the number of gorillas up to 90% in some areas 
They live very long lives there life spam is 35 to 40 years, zoo gorillas live up to 50 years and over

ET REO



Description: on Monday afternoons we have E T Reo. In E T Reo we learn Maori lunchbox foods and how to ask if you like a food or don't like a food. We also learn Maori songs. Here is a video with Lachlan asking Me what foods he liked and disliked.



Big Idea: for this task we had to make a video about asking if your friend if the like a specific food. First we had to learn what to say the we had to make the video. Some of the foods we learn were:
Aporo- Apple 
Arani- orange
Nati nati- nuts
Hanawiti- sandwich
Taki- wrap

Feedback/Feedforward: funny stuff  hunter I think you need to pronance your words better.

Evaluation: I think we did well because I pronanced the words correctly but I could speak faster because I got the imprecision that I was reading.

Description: In math I am in stage six in stage six.We are learning four strategys so that we can use the best one four the question that you are doing.

Big idea:I have been learning how to do Place value, Rounding and Compensating, Reversibility, equal addition in our work shops the one I find easiest is rounding and compensating.

Science portfolio sample

Description: every Thursday we have been doing science three are three different topics digestive system ,animal habitats and food chains that has been what I've been doing we have been thinking about how our food is made.


Big idea: people think we get our food from the supermarket but we actually get it from the sun because the sun provides the plants so now we now that we rely on the sun for our food.

Reading portfolio sample

Description: In Reading we have been attending workshops based on our goal. We did a star test at the start of last term and from that we chose our goal. Comprehension or Expanding Vocabulary. We have 2 Workshops a week for thirty minutes. We also have one Gym time which goes for an hour. There are two hours a day and 3 days for a week. When we don't have a workshop or Gym we do a tic tac toe.

Success Criteria:
- Text to Text When you make a Text to Text connection you relate two bits of text together
- Text to Self When you make a Text to Self connection you relate something that you have done that is in the text
- Text to World When you make a Text to World connection you relate something in the text to something that's happened in the world


Big Idea: In this tic tac toe we had to think of someone who is just like you and draw a picture of them and write why they are just like you!
